Evacuation sledge offers ideal solutions for deployment through a wide range of buildings. The evacuation devices are designed to help transfer those who are mobility impaired out of a building in the event of an emergency. It consists of a two layer foam; the lower layer is firm, to ride over any surfaces such as carpets, concrete or stairs, whilst the softer upper layer ensures the user is kept comfortable.
The Alerta evacuation sledge is supplied in a wall mountable bag for easy storage and immediate accessibility in emergency. The flexible and slippery mattress surface will easily allow controlled access through doorways and down stairs. Stored in a pouch, it can also be hung on the wall. One or two people required to use.
This product from Alerta Medical is used for transporting a user to safety during an evacuation. The user is placed on the sledge, secured with the chest and leg straps and pulled to safety using the straps at each end. This wall mounted evacuation sledge is a 50mm foam sledge that is stowed away in a storage bag ideal for locations such as nurses stations and residential care facilities. In the event of an evacuation the sledge is removed from its bag and the user is placed onto the sledge for quicker evacuation.

Please note: Due to the lifesaving nature of these devices, it is recommended that a separate evacuation sledge is used for drills and training purposes. This will ensure that the sledge used in an emergency has been exposed to minimal wear and tear.
